Silagen is a clinically proven effective scar treatment and prevention line for hypertrophic scars, burn scars, keloids, and abnormal scarring. Silagen 100% medical-grade silicone gel sheeting helps flatten and soften raised or thick scars, cushion and protect new or sensitive scars, and reduce redness, itching, and pain. The sheeting size selection should be based on the size of the scar and can be trimmed to fit if necessary (sheeting should extend at least 1/2 inch beyond the area being treated). Silagen sheeting is 1mm in thickness for durability and a longer usable life (3-4 weeks vs 7-10 days with Scar Away and other OTC silicone sheeting). Silagen Gel Sheeting Cleanser is recommended to clean the strips to maximize the usable life.

How to Use

Begin use once sutures are removed or when the wound has naturally closed. Remove gel sheet from package and trim to fit if necessary (sheet should extend at least ½ inch (1cm) beyond the area being treated). Ensure scar area is clean and dry, as well as free from creams, lotions, ointments, and powders. Peel off the backing and apply over scar with adhesive side down. Wear daily for 6-24 hours. Remove once daily to allow site to be washed and dried. For best results use daily for a minimum of 2 months. If gel sheet becomes dirty or loses adhesiveness, wash gently with Silagen Gel Sheeting Cleanser. Allow to air dry before reapplying. Use clear storage tray included in package to store the gel sheet when not in use.
